Choose by starting point, not just by title

For the historic centre, choose a tour whose meeting point is explicitly in Hallstatt. The village itself has no large tour harbour: boats use lake landings, while the station ferry crosses from the opposite shore.

Dachstein Krippenstein tickets belong to Obertraun. They suit travellers who want mountain viewpoints, caves or winter snowshoeing, but they require a separate trip from Hallstatt and operate seasonally.

Photography and private tours cost more than simple attraction tickets. Their value lies in personal time, not in access that independent visitors could not otherwise obtain. Read the inclusions carefully, especially for the funicular, mine, boat and cable-car tickets.
